Praia do Lota

Outside

The front of the house has a small garden planted with local shrubs , a driveway and path to the front door. The first floor has a balcony with table and chairs which is accessed from the bedroom and has a good view of the sea.

The village of Manta Rota is a 10 minute stroll from the house or two minutes in the car. There are plenty of local restaurants and bars offering a good selection of locally caught fish and Portuguese food. The newest of these restaurants have roof terraces looking out to sea and are all reasonably priced. In July and August, to be sure of a table, you will need to book.  There is a good supermarket, butcher and fresh fish and veg. market ( open mornings only near the seafront) a newsagent, several gift shops and a taxi service in the village.

The swimming pool is 15ft x 8ft and 4ft deep, suitable for children and sitting and enjoying a gin and tonic! this is maintained on a regular basis. There is also a shower outside .

The sun is in the garden all day in the summer months and moves to the front garden at about 6pm. The roof terrace has the sun all day, it can get very hot up there but great for drying towels etc! It's the best place to enjoy a nightcap, listen to the sea and look at the stars.

The BBQ  in the garden is brick built and fuelled by charcoal, ideal for cooking your freshly bought fish. There is also a sink unit next to it.

A tennis court belonging to a nearby hotel is available to hire for a small charge. There are two tennis racquets at the house. The court can be seen at the rear of the house.
